3D-scanning of Jarrama's figurehead

The project was about doing a 3D scan of Jarrama's galleon figure. The project was done together with the Marine Museum. The purpose of 3D scanning is to be able to use it to create a digital version of Jarrama's galleon figure. The digital version will be used as a template for milling out a new figure using a CNC machine. It will then be painted and surface treated to protect against rain, dirt and wear. The new galleon figure will be mounted on the full rig Jarramas, which has belonged to the Marine Museum since 1997. Jarramas was launched in 1900 and was one of the Skeppsgossekåren's last ships. Jarramas was closed down in 1939 and was acquired by Karlskrona municipality in 1950. The entire project took about 40 hours to scan and to edit and create a useful model for later use as a template for milling.
